China firmly opposes U.S. sanctions placed on Chinese firms for Russia-related reasons, which have no basis in international law and are not authorized by the UN Security Council, China's Ministry of Commerce spokesperson said.
These are typical examples of unilateral sanctions and "long-arm jurisdiction", which seriously undermine legitimate corporate rights and interests and affect the security and stability of the global supply chain, according to the spokesperson.
The U.S. should immediately correct its wrongdoings and stop its unreasonable suppression of Chinese firms. China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, the spokesperson stressed.
