Sancha Lake is an artificial lake with the most islands in southwest China's Sichuan Province. It is also the second largest lake in the province and a large impounding lake for the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Since its creation in 1983, the lake has become a popular winter and spring stop for migratory birds.
