Curtain Theatre, where Shakespeare once graced the stage
CGTN

Intimately connected with playwright William Shakespeare, the Curtain Theatre, a playhouse opened in 1577 in London, is believed to be where Shakespeare used to perform as an actor and may even have staged the first performances of "Romeo and Juliet" and "Henry V." Exploratory digs in 2016 of the remains of the theatre allowed archaeologists to study the Shakespearean playhouse in detail.
