Slovakia joins Poland and Hungary in suspending imports of Ukrainian grain
02:30

Slovakia's government has suspended imports of grain and other agricultural commodities from its neighbor Ukraine after a recent discovery that 1500 tonnes of grain imported from the country had potentially been contaminated by pesticides. Poland and Hungary declared a similar ban over the weekend, as farmers say imports from Ukraine have lowered prices and reduced their sales. The heat is mounting on Brussels to work out a solution for the European Union.
