China has always viewed and developed Sino-U.S. relations in accordance with the three principles of "mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Tuesday in Beijing.
Recently, the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in Japan that China must make clear its intentions and its relationship with the U.S. and he looks forward the progress in the U.S.-China relationship.
The root cause of the current tensions in China-U.S. relations is that the U.S. side is formulating and implementing wrong policies towards China based on wrong perceptions of China, Wang responded.
The U.S. side should stop interfering in China's internal affairs, stop harming China's interests, stop claiming to put "guardrails" on China-U.S. relations while destroying the political foundation of the two countries' relations, he added.
