Great crested grebe parents take good care of their babies
CGTN

A couple of great crested grebes were seen catching fish for their babies in a lake in the Old Summer Palace in Beijing.

After being hatched, the chicks are taken good care of by their parents. Once the chicks leave the nest, the parents take turns carrying the young on their back out into the water for up to three weeks.

The diet of great crested grebes consists mainly of fish, but also includes insects, crustaceans and other invertebrate larvae.
