To mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, the UK's Guildhall School of Music and Drama performed a play based on the Bard's sonnets in Chongqing, China, 2016. Titled "Go, Make You Ready," the play showcased Shakespeare's life. It is set on the evening of April 22 and the morning of April 23, 1616, the day of his death. Staged at the city's Guotai Arts Center, it formed part of a year-long international celebration organized by the British Council called "Shakespeare Lives," which included several lectures, film screenings and exhibitions.
