A senior Chinese official on Thursday met with the U.S. ambassador to China in Beijing, exchanging views on China-U.S. relations.
The meeting between Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Community Party of China Central Committee, and U.S. Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns took place at the latter's request, according to a brief statement released by the department.
It said both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
