The Luoyang Shuixi, or Luoyang Water Banquet, has a history dating back 1,300 years to the Tang Dynasty. It is a grand feast consisting of 24 courses with eight cold dishes and 16 warm dishes. It's served during important celebrations or to welcome important guests.
To promote understanding of China, and especially the country's traditional food culture, international students from three different continents who are currently studying at various Chinese universities were invited to Luoyang to witness the entire process of cooking the Water Banquet. They also got a chance to learn from the master and cook some of the famous dishes themselves.
