Mother Nature has worked her magic by molding melting ice into various wondrous shapes on Ulungur Lake, with rising temperatures and strong winds combining to sculpt a series of stunning icebergs. Every winter, Ulungur Lake, which spans a total area of more than 1,000 square kilometers and is one of China's largest freshwater lakes, is typically coated by a solid ice sheet measuring about one meter thick.

Blown by strong winds, the ice blocks will drift towards the shore, often building up into giant icy formations and even creating towering icebergs as the various chunks of ice pile up in succession. A number of these icebergs can climb up to five meters tall, with some even exceeding a whopping 10 meters, as the strong northwesterly wind keeps the ice flow coming.
