The Work Safety Committee of China's State Council will supervise the investigation into the fire that killed 29 people at Beijing's Changfeng Hospital on April 18.
The committee has urged quick identification of the cause of the fire and the holding of the persons responsible accountable.
A preliminary investigation blamed flammable painting materials ignited by sparks generated during renovation of the hospital's inpatient department in Fengtai District.
