The center called for stepping up preparedness for strong winds as temperature declines in the next few days and called for being mindful of secondary disasters that could result from heavy precipitation and severe convective weather.

Vessels operating on water and passing ships in relevant waters should take positive measures such as returning to the port to avoid or take a detour. Construction materials should be covered at the construction site, and outdoor articles susceptible to rainstorms and hail should be properly placed.

The drainage systems of cities, farmlands and fish ponds should be carefully inspected, and preparations should be made against floods and landslides in certain areas.

On Thursday, strong cold air affected most parts of northern China, many places saw strong winds and cooling weather. Monitoring showed that the eastern part of the northwest, north China, northeast China and other places experienced temperature drops of 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, with the mercury dropping more than 10 degrees Celsius in some places, according to the National Meteorological Center.
