Professor Anna Malindog-Uy, director and vice president for external affairs of the Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute, a Manila-based think tank, believes that the Global Security Initiative (GSI) offers a framework for global security governance that is different from the Western-led approaches. This comes a year after Chinese President Xi Jinping initially proposed the GSI at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in April 2022.
