Former Belgian prime minister Yves Leterme has been in China's southern city of Guangzhou to attend the "Understanding China-Greater Bay Area Dialogue". CGTN's Cao Chufeng caught up with him to learn more about his views on trade between China, Belgium and the European Union, as well as his thoughts on the ongoing Canton Fair. Leterme said he hopes trade can rise above pre-pandemic levels, and before former U.S. president Donald Trump introduced protective measures. He also emphasized that it is people who engage in trade, and that the Canton Fair is a good platform for people-to-people exchanges.
