A magnitude-7.3 earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands region in the northeast of New Zealand, according to the country's National Emergency Management Agency.
The quake hit at a depth of 10 kilometers at 12: 42 p.m., the agency said, adding there is no tsunami threat to New Zealand following the earthquake.
