The grassland in the high altitude of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has gradually turned green. Local herdsmen have set off on their migration journey to transfer thousands of livestock to spring pastures.

Herding thousands of livestock over 20 kilometers is not easy work. The Border Management Detachment of Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture has sent some policemen to help local herdsmen.

Together with the herdsmen, the policemen also ride horses, bringing food, medicines, and other supplies.

They carefully monitor the weather and plan the routes to make sure the herdsmen and their herds safely arrive at the spring pastures
