The Western China International Fair (WCIF) will hold its 19th edition from June 29 to July 3 in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The organizers announced on Tuesday that Thailand will be the Guest Country of Honor (GCH) for this edition, at a press conference in Beijing.

The fair will promote the country's image in a comprehensive manner, according to the organizers.

"WCIF is an important platform for participants, both from government and private sectors, from many countries around the world, to take full advantages of the existing collaboration," said Srihara Prapapom, minister-counselor of the Office of Commercial Affairs at the Thai Embassy in China, adding that the fair will "create opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and culture."

The fair will also host forums and meetings on topics such as international trade, investment, procurement, and science and technology.

The organizers welcomed foreign enterprises, trade unions, market research institutes and professionals to join the fair.
