An open debate on "Effective Multilateralism through the Defense of the Principles of the UN Charter" was held on Monday in New York. Zhang Jun, Chinese Ambassador to the UN called for all countries to implement real multilateralism and discard unilateral sanctions in the face of unprecedented global challenges. China opposes some countries framing its own will as a so-called rules-based international order, imposing it onto the international community, and wantonly violating the legitimate rights of other countries in violation of the international rule of law, he said.
