The U.S. remains the world's biggest military spender by far. It has spent $877 billion on its military in 2022, three times more than China's military spending. Teng Jianqun, research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, says that high military spending only benefits U.S. hegemony and its military-industrial complex.
