Japanese company loses contact with moon lander after historic launch
01:29

A Japanese company tried to land its own spacecraft on the moon on April 26, but its fate was unknown as flight controllers lost contact with it moments before the planned touchdown. The minutes went by with still no word from the lander, with controllers investigating what might have happened. Only three countries have so far successfully landed on the moon: Russia, the U.S. and China.
