The China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a project aimed to strengthen interconnectivity in the areas of policy, infrastructure, trade, finance and non-governmental exchanges with the goal of bringing benefits to all.
Joining the BRI in 2022 helps Syria open broad horizons of cooperation with China and other countries. In this video, Syrian vlogger Zein Ali, who has been living in China for more than 13 years, says: "Joining the BRI revives the old role of Syria in the ancient Silk Road and brings a huge help to Syria's economy." As a Syrian living in China, Zein saw China's continuous assistance to his country, whether it was during the COVID-19 pandemic or when an earthquake struck Syria two months ago. He believes China can bring peace and development to his country.
