MOFCOM: Resolutely oppose U.S.'s new policy to curb China
CGTN

China will resolutely oppose the reported move by the Biden administration to restrict investment in China if related reports are true, noted Shu Jueting, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Commerce, in response to media inquiries at the regular press conference held on April 27.

Leveraging administrative means to intervene and restrict the normal business decisions of enterprises is a behavior that goes against free market principles. Discriminatory restrictions against specific countries violate the basic principles of international economy and trade, she added.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has repeatedly stated that it does not seek to decouple from China's economy and is willing to engage in benign competition with China. Hopefully, the U.S. side will match action with words, abide by international economic and trade rules, respect the right of enterprises to carry out normal investment and trade activities, and make common progress through healthy competition.
