Russian President Vladimir Putin took part via video link in a ceremony marking the first nuclear fuel delivery to the Turkish Akkuyu nuclear power plant, which has been built in partnership with Russia.
Putin said he and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have agreed to deepen the economic, trade and agricultural cooperation between their countries.
Erdogan also virtually attended the ceremony. He said the power plant will be fully operational by 2028 and supply 10 percent of Türkiye's electricity consumption.
The ceremony was also attended by Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
