Chinese shuttlers continue to sweep victories and advance to the last 8 at the 2023 Badminton Asia Championships on Thursday.
In the mixed doubles, Olympic silver medalists and top seeds Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong breezed past Singaporean duo Hee Yong Kai Terry and Tan Wei Han Jessica 21-13, 21-9 within half an hour. China's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin also enjoyed a straight-game victory in only 27 minutes.
In the women's doubles, Olympic silver medalists Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan advanced in straight games and set up their next round against Japanese duo Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota.
In the men's singles, Li Shifeng downed his second-round opponent in straight games while Lu Guangzu had to fight for a comeback after losing the first game.
In the women's singles, four Chinese players reached the last eight, including Olympic champion Chen Yufei, He Bingjiao, Han Yue and Wang Zhiyi who advanced through a walkover.
