World's largest liquefied gas carrier delivered in Shanghai
01:12

The world's biggest ultra-large liquefied gas carrier, with a capacity of carrying 93,000 cubic meters, was delivered to Singaporean company Petredec in Shanghai.

With a total length of 230 meters and a width of 36.6 meters, the vessel, named Harzand, is independently developed, designed and built by Chinese manufacturer Jiangnan Shipyard and has a service speed of 16.5 knots.

Driven by liquefied natural gas and traditional fuel oil, the ship sees a fuel endurance of 23,000 nautical miles. Its fuel and gas consumption meets the latest emission requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Domestically produced steels for low temperature service were used on the vessel, which has significantly reduced the procurement process. In efforts to make sure the ship can be immediately put into operation after delivery, the construction team has finished the conventional sea trial, gas-powered sea trial and gas test at once.
