Five people, including an 8-year-old child, were killed after being shot in a home by a suspect armed with an AR-15-style rifle, ABC News reported on Saturday, citing local police.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:31 p.m. local time on Friday when officials from the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office received a call about a potential shooting in Cleveland in the south central U.S. state of Texas.

The suspect is still on the run and an investigation into the shooting is underway.
