Two Chinese People's Liberation Army naval vessels have evacuated 940 Chinese citizens and 231 nationals of other countries from conflict-hit Sudan to Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Port from April 26 to 29, Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Tan Kefei said on Saturday. 

"The Chinese military will always be the guardian of the people and a staunch force for safeguarding China's sovereignty, security and development interests and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind," said Tan.
