Expert: China's economic recovery in Q1 exceeds expectation

A meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Friday noted that the "triple pressure" of shrinking demand, supply shocks and weakening expectations has eased since the end of 2022, but difficulties remain in the country's pursuit of high-quality development. Qu Qiang, research fellow at Beijing Foreign Studies University, says that the economic recovery in the first quarter of 2023 has exceeded expectations.
