Team China secured the mixed doubles title at the Badminton Asia Championships on Saturday, with Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong taking on Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin.

Both pairs defeated their semifinal opponents in straight sets.

The top-seeded Zheng and Huang Yaqiong easily defeated the Malaysian duo Goh Soon Huat and Lai Shevon Jemie 21-11, 21-13, while Jiang and Wei Yaxin bested the Indonesian pair Dejan Ferdinansyah and Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja 21-17, 21-15.

Meanwhile, Olympic champion Chen Yufei was unable to reach the women's singles final after losing to South Korea's An Se-young in a full-set battle. An first gained the advantage when the two forced the decider to 16-16, taking two points in a row, only to be tied by Chen shortly after. An then led again at 20-18 and took the victory despite Chen saving a match point.

In the men's singles, Lu Guangzu was unable to make it to the final after a 2-0 loss to Singapore's Loh Kean Yew.
