Washington and Seoul have repeatedly mentioned Taiwan during their meetings and U.S. military planes have flown through the Taiwan Straits several times recently. China has emphasized repeatedly that the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair, and there is no place for foreign interference. Teng Jianqun, research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies, says that it appears that the U.S. would like to mobilize support from its allies in manipulating the Taiwan question.
