A huge variety of flowers have entered into the springtime blossom season across China, as people head outdoors to soak up the spring atmosphere over the Labor Day holiday.

Blossoming azaleas blanket the mountains, heralding the arrival of the flower season in Puge County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest China's Sichuan Province. Women from the Yi ethnic group dressed in their gorgeous costumes took part in an annual parade to present their beauty and welcome visitors. Red, pink and white azaleas adorn these beauties, creating a picturesque scene.

The Yi ethnic women held yellow umbrellas to show their deep reverence for the fire that they believe brings them warmth, a bright future and warm food. As one of the iconic colors of the Yi ethnic minority, yellow is the symbol of the sun. Azaleas are the representative flower for the Yi ethnic group, which they consider to be the flower of life and a symbol of female beauty.
