China has witnessed a high-level domestic passenger flow on the first three days of the five-day International Labor Day holiday starting on April 29, with over 159 million domestic trips expected to be made by Chinese passengers by train, highway, ship and air, up 161.9 percent year on year, China's Ministry of Transport estimates.

Among them, railway trips are expected to surge by 460.9 percent to 53 million, while air travel could rocket by 546 percent to 5.29 million. The highway system is expected to carry out over 97 million passenger trips, a year-on-year increase of 99.7 percent, and passenger volume by ship is estimated to rise by 86.2 percent to 3.34 million.

To meet people's travel needs, China's transportation sectors are increasing their capacity and improving their service quality to ensure that passengers have better experiences.
