Kite couple hunts together in southern China
CGTN

A pair of black-winged kites was captured hunting together in southern China.

The birds have taken residence in the woods of the campus of Hainan University in southern China for over two years and recently welcomed a new member to their family.

Professor Wang Aimin, who works at the university and is a regular bird-watcher on campus, captured a rare scene of the couple preying together in late April. In the photos, one bird can be seen standing on top of a branch and the other clutching a large rat under its claws.

The black-winged kite is a bird of prey that feeds on small rodents or birds. It is under second-class protection in China.
