Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang on Tuesday inspected the China-Myanmar border area in southwest China's Yunnan Province, urging efforts to maintain border stability and promote bilateral friendship and cooperation.
Yunnan is located at the forefront of work with Myanmar and plays a unique role in promoting China-Myanmar relations, Qin said, calling on managing the border between China and Myanmar on the back of the law, and strengthening the learning and implementation of the National Land Boundary Law of China.

We should also improve cooperation between the Party, government, police, military and civilians to strengthen the border security, maintain the stability of the border and crack down on cross-border criminal activities, he continued.
Stressing coordination of border management, border trade development and bilateral relations, Qin said that we should accelerate the construction of cross-border economic cooperation zones, push forward the building of the China-Myanmar economic corridor and promote the economic and social development of both countries.
Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, we should give full play to Yunnan's unique advantages, do a good job in local foreign affairs, maintain peace and tranquility on the border, and safeguard the general situation of friendship between China and Myanmar, Qin stressed.
