'We Talk': Chinese tourists inject momentum into Thailand's tourism industry
As China has optimized its COVID-19 prevention measures, outbound tourism has grown rapidly. Thailand is one of the most popular destinations for Chinese people. From street stalls and food courts to open-air night markets, street vendors are a big part of Thailand's most popular stall culture. During the Labor Day break, CGTN stringer caught up with Wiphanada Kunsucharit, a restaurant owner near Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and asked her how she's doing after the recent pick-up in Chinese outbound tourism. Kunsucharit said foot traffic has yet to return to previous levels, but Chinese tourists are on the rise and street stalls and other businesses are ready to welcome them. She looks forward to the day when tourism returns to fully-booming levels.
