Two Siberian cranes were found by bird protection volunteers of Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. They soon sent the two "patients" to the local wildlife rescue center for help.

After proper treatment, one crane that suffered from gastrointestinal disease has fully recovered. It was released into nature on April 30 at the Haixing Wetland of Cangzhou City. The other wounded Siberian crane needs further treatment before being released into the wild.

Pure white plumage, a brick red face, long legs and a beak, the Siberian crane is listed as a critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The eastern population mostly winter in Poyang Lake in east China's Jiangxi Province, and they migrate north to their summer grounds for breeding.
