As a cradle of young filmmakers in China, the BCSFF has encouraged and supported young people for the past 30 years.
Since 1993, the BCSFF has involved youth power in the development of Chinese cinema through its distinctive features of "Organized by College Students, Enjoyed by College Students, Filmed by College Students, Appraised by College Students" with an emphasis on youth, academics, and openness.
By focusing on the creativity of young filmmakers and rooting for them, the BCSFF has built a unique young filmmakers’ community in China. This year, the festival hosted the Young Filmmakers Forum, the 4th Forum for International Young Scholars, and other activities to build fronts for young filmmakers’ creation, academic research, and literary criticism.
