A crowd gathered around a village gate as ethnic Miao girls, dressed in their finest costumes, served guests their traditional wine and Miao dishes recently in Taijiang County of southwest China's Guizhou Province. They sang songs of toast to welcome nearly 10,000 tourists from inside and outside the province who were there to celebrate the annual Taijiang Miao Sisters Festival.

This is one of the most significant and culturally rich festivals in Guizhou. In June 2006, the Miao Sisters Festival was listed as one of the province's first national intangible cultural heritage items.
