'Hacking empire' U.S.: We are the rules
T-House

Editor's note: As a "hacking empire," the U.S. has been cyber snooping across the world for decades. T-House created a satire animation on the U.S. sticking its nose where it doesn't belong. The animation features a conversation between a CIA officer and Edward Snowden, the whistleblower in "PRISMgate," revealing that the U.S. has been snooping on both allies and perceived enemies to pursue its own interests. The views expressed in the video are not necessarily those of CGTN.

"Our way or the highway?" Uncle Sam's mindset has led to mass illegal surveillance on both friends and foes around the world. And CIA has been doing all the dirty work. This reckless disregard for privacy and international norms must come to an end.

CIA: Snowden must be extradited, he is a threat to national security, the rule of law and the international order.

Snowden: Wait, but the American people love me!!!

CIA: No way!!!

Snowden: Because I showed them the main threat to our national security is you. Both the CIA and the NSA illegally spy on U.S. citizens, so why am I the bad guy?

CIA: That's classified, if I told you, I would have to kill you. Well actually, to be technical, I am going to kill you, even if I don't tell you.

Snowden: God help us all!!!

CIA: And, keep the American people out of this. God put us in charge of things and this is the stuff we do to protect their ability to enjoy their constitutional rights.

Snowden: Sounds more constipational than constitutional...

CIA: Believe me, we only kill people when we need to. Well, most of the time anyway.

Snowden: So, if I am a deadman, humor me, why am I the threat to the rule of law and the international order. Because you're the ones breaking the laws, creating false evidence to support the invasion of Iraq, spying on our allies, interfering in the internal affairs of other nations, financing regime change, and using disinformation campaigns to smear those you don't like. I just exposed your illegal activities.

CIA: That's where you are confused boy!!! You think when we say the rule of law and the international order, we are talking about the rest of the world. The fact is we are the rule of law and the international order, all the rest of the countries know it, you're just too naive to understand the real situation.

Snowden: Naive??? But I'm a Langley graduate!!!

CIA: When we invade a country, it's because we have to protect our interests. It's not like the boys at the Pentagon just want to test out their new toys.

Snowden: Boys and their toys!!!

CIA: We've got reasons you don't understand, and we can't tell you, because you wouldn't understand. Understand?

Snowden: No....

CIA: We spy on our allies, because they can't be trusted and you definitely can't trust your enemies, so we spy on them too.

Snowden: So you admit to spying on South Korea?

CIA: South Korea only thinks that we're spying on them. I'll tell the South Korean president that we're not, but Yoon Suk-yeol is currently taking a shower...

Snowden: I'm sure that he'll be pleased to know this...

CIA: In terms of what you refer to as the "internal affairs or other nations and regime change," you just can't seem to understand that everything affects us, so we have to be in charge of everything, otherwise there would be chaos.

Snowden: I think you're the one causing the chaos!!!

CIA: As far as disinformation campaigns go, everybody does it!!! We're just better at it than they are.

Snowden: CIA accounting is never audited, nor made public!!!

CIA: It shows everybody who's boss and keeps them "honest."

Snowden: You call this honesty?

CIA: Son, it's nothing personal, I just want you to know that every night before bedtime, I've been polishing this "special bullet" I've been saving for you.

Snowden: You sound like a MADMAN!!!

CIA: Because it's the only way to protect the values of our great nation. It's something someone like you will never understand.

Snowden: How can you live with yourself?

CIA: I do it for God, the country and the American way, and by American Way I mean "our way, or the highway."

Snowden: You're just delusional!!!
