According to the U.S. National Weather Service, two tornadoes swept through the suburbs of Los Angeles County on May 4. The first one hit Carson at 8:45 a.m., and the second touched down in Compton about 10 minutes later. The tornadoes damaged several buildings, trees and vehicles. No casualties were reported.
