China's leading intelligent speech and artificial intelligence company iFLYTEK launched its generative language model SparkDesk on Saturday. Liu Qingfeng, chairman of iFLYTEK said the model aims to exceed ChatGPT's capabilities in understanding Chinese language and reach its standards in English. Interest in generative AI has surged since the release of Chat GPT by Open AI in November last year. In recent months, Chinese tech companies including Baidu, Alibaba and Huawei have announced their own AI models and released similar chatbots. "It's a trend that all tech companies should embrace. And these breakthroughs require long-term efforts and continuous innovation," said Liu.
