A wildlife photographer captured the heartwarming moments of a brown bear family's separation and reunion in the Sanjiangyuan National Park in northwest China's Qinghai Province.

In the video, the mother bear was seen climbing a hill and taking her three cubs out to forage. But one cub lagged behind due to its slow speed. When the mother bear realized one cub was missing, she rushed back to find it. Meanwhile, the cub was making its way up the hill to catch up with its mom and two siblings. The family then reunited and set off again together.

Brown bears, under second-class state protection in China, often come out to forage in summer after months of hibernation.

Sanjiangyuan refers to an area of the Qinghai Plateau on the roof of the earth, which is home to the headwaters of three great rivers of Asia: the Yellow, the Yangtze, and the Lancang rivers. Parts of the area were protected as the Sanjiangyuan National Nature Reserve, which turned into Sanjiangyuan National Park in 2015.
