Manchester City tightened their grip on the Premier League title with four points clear of runners-up Arsenal after a 2-1 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

Ilkay Gundogan contributed a double for City within 27 minutes of the game, as City cruised to victory before Rodrigo Moreno netted a goal for Leeds moments before the end.

Gundogan, however, failed to complete a hat-trick when Erling Haaland ignored manager Pep Guardiola's order and gave him the chance at the penalty spot which was saved by Leeds keeper Joel Robles.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's faint hopes of a top-four finish continued in their sixth straight win in all games, beating Brentford 1-0 thanks to Mohamed Salah's first-half strike. Liverpool are now 1 point behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who have two games in hand.

Harry Kane's only goal of the game against Crystal Palace gave Tottenham Hotspur their first win in five games.

Chelsea claimed their first win, a 3-1 over Bournemouth, under interim manager Frank Lampard.
