South Korean civic groups protest Japanese PM's visit

Representatives from South Korean civic groups rallied in front of the presidential office and in the city center of Seoul to protest Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's visit on May 7. During the protest, demonstrators chanted slogans, held signs and delivered speeches expressing their dissatisfaction with the Japanese government's attitude towards past aggression and the South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol's foreign policy towards the U.S. and Japan. The civic groups at the rally announced that demonstrations would be held simultaneously in multiple areas of Seoul and that protests would continue in front of South Korea's presidential office during Kishida's visit.
