The Epic of Manas is a Kirgiz poem widely known in certain parts of Xinjiang populated by the ethnic group. Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture is one such place, and it's there a Kirgiz man has spent the past four decades helping preserve the tradition.
