Syria's foreign ministry has welcomed the Arab League's decision to restore the country's membership. The announcement was made on May 7 at an emergency meeting of Arab nations in Cairo. Wang Jin, an associate professor at Northwest University of China, says an atmosphere of peace in the Middle East facilitated Syria's return to the Arab League.
