The death toll rose to 23 after a bus fell from a bridge in Madhya Pradesh, a central Indian state on Tuesday afternoon, local media has reported, citing police.
About 20 to 25 people are being treated in hospital, and it's still unclear how the accident happened, the police added.
A rescue operation is currently underway.
