China's foreign trade grew by 5.8 percent year-on-year to 13.32 trillion yuan in the first four months of 2023, data from the General Administration of Customs showed. China's foreign trade structure continued on its path up the value chain, transforming into an exporter of intermediate products. The trade of private enterprises accounted for more than half of China's total trade.
