Located in Dazu district, the Dazu Rock Carvings impress visitors with a series of elaborate Chinese religious sculptures and carvings dating from the 9th to the 13th century. Influenced by Buddhist, Confucian and Taoist beliefs, these carvings consist of 75 protected sites containing 50,000 Chinese Buddhist-style statues on steep hillsides. The carvings were listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. Tens of thousands of visitors flock there every year to admire these majestic works.

The Chongqing Wulipo National Nature Reserve covers more than 35,000 hectares in Wushan County, featuring rich flora and fauna. It is replete with virgin forests, native subalpine meadows, rare plant cedars and many other wild plants. This World Natural Heritage Site serves as a "natural oxygen bar" in the area where visitors can appreciate the beauty and tranquility of nature.
