Russia holds annual Victory Day parade at Red Square
Russia held its annual Victory Day military parade at Red Square in Moscow today (May 9), marking the 78th anniversary of the Soviet Union's defeat of Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. More than 10,000 Russian military personnel took part in this year's parade, forming dozens of foot formations for inspection. Over 125 ground weapons and equipment of the Russian military were paraded, including T-34 tanks, various armored vehicles, tactical missile systems and air defense missile systems. Russian President Vladimir Putin watched the parade along with veterans of the Russian army.
